In today’s digital age, understanding cyber risks has become increasingly important. The EU Cyber Security Act defines this as “the activities required to protect network and information systems, the users of those systems, and other persons affected by cyber threats.” The proliferation of digital devices, networks, and cloud-based services, coupled with the huge growth in online services, has led to an increase in cyberattacks. For example, there has been a significant rise in data breaches, social engineering attacks, internet scams, and malware infections (e.g., ransomware). These attacks can result in substantial financial losses, reputational damage, and legal liability.
