March 2026 – Solid waste management, and in particular Construction & Demolition Waste (C&D), is now a strategic priority for the industry. Architects, through their design, determine the volume and quality of the waste produced.
Managing solid and construction waste is a key challenge for the architectural sector. Architects are expected to design projects that minimize waste generation, integrate smart solutions (bins, garbage chutes, compactors, underground systems, fill-level sensors), and comply with the regulatory framework.
This seminar equips participants with practical tools to estimate waste volumes, select appropriate technologies, and develop sustainable building designs with a reduced environmental footprint.
Upon completion of the seminar, participants will be able to:
- recognize the regulatory framework (Cyprus & EU) for waste and construction waste.
- determine and calculate the volume of waste generated in projects.
- design spaces and infrastructure that facilitate the collection, temporary storage and transport of waste.
- apply new management methods and technologies (prevention, reuse, recycling, energy recovery).
- incorporate principles of circular economy and sustainable construction.
The topics of the seminar are ideal for:
- Architects
- Construction Companies Managers
- Engineers
- QHSE Managers/ Officers in Construction Industry
Instructor:
Our experienced Environmental Specialist Instructor and Consultant Georgia Konstantinou will provide to all participants the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to efficiently manager solid waste in construction industry.
