Bridging the Gap between clinical provision and coding is one of the most important aspects concerning the Health Care since the implementation of GESY (National Health Care System) in Cyprus. The increasing complexity of Health System and the requirements for accurate documentation and coding, make the collaboration between clinical providers and medical coding professionals critical.
Lack of coordination between the two parts, leads to incorrect coding, financial losses, delays in compensation, incomplete data, and risks to regulatory compliance. Moreover, insufficient understanding of the importance of documentation by clinical professionals heightens the problem.
