The ISO 14001:2015 standard provides the requirements for an Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The purpose of the ISO 14001 standard is to help companies in any industry protect the environment, prevent pollution, improve their environmental performance and being able to manage and control the associated risks.
The current version of the standard is ISO 14001:2015 can be applied to any business of any size and sector, to demonstrate the company’s commitments to on-going environmental issues both on a local and national level. The approach to continual improvement is similar to other standards such as ISO 9001, but its focus is on environmental aspects and impacts of the business to the environment.
