ESG Criteria Compliance
ESG refers to Environmental, Social and Governance criteria that are used to assess the performance of an organization in those aspects. ESG compliance has become an essential part of corporate strategy, as it is rapidly changing from a voluntary plan into a legal obligation based on the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
For a company, being ESG-compliant means following ESG principles and taking action in three dimensions:
Environmental – This includes the company’s carbon footprint, its practices to address climate change, toxic chemicals’ usage in manufacturing, and sustainability efforts that make up its business and supply chains
Social – This considers the way a company improves its social impact and manages relationships with employees, customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and communities in its operations, including equality, inclusion, diversity and ethics issues.
Governance – This considers everything related to the way the company is managed and led including internal controls and promotion of transparency.
