Principles and Quality Control in Microbiological Routine is a unique training program organized in Cyprus for Clinical Laboratories. The Clinical Microbiology is a foundation for the diagnosis and management of infections, with a decisive contribution to patient safety. The reliability and repeatability of microbiological results are ensured through the correct and systematic application of quality control (QC), in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 15189 standard and the international guidelines (CLSI, EUCAST, WHO).

The understanding and application of quality control techniques should not be treated simply as a compliance obligation, but as essential tools for evaluating laboratory performance and enhancing the safety of the diagnistic processes.

The seminar focuses on the basic principles of quality control in Microbiology, combining theory and practice, with the aim of enhancing daily laboratory practice, both in accredited and nonaccredited laboratories.
